Sand Creek Ranch
History
Sand Creek Ranch is nestled within the largest mountains in British Columbia. The flat valley bottom is filled with fresh running water which provides fishing and boating opportunities. On either side of the ranch are lakes of unsurpassed beauty, putting Sand Creek Ranch in one of the most spectacular places in the world.
The ranch was homesteaded in 1960, and remains a family-run working cattle ranch. Walt and Carol Foster have dedicated many years of hard work to raising a family, caring for their cattle, and to breeding and training registered Quarter Horses. These horses roam the fields, making for gorgeous sights from the river or while hiking.
The ranch is a unique place where people have learned to live with and care for the land. Walt and Carol have carefully managed the ranch and are committed to developing the land with environmental stewardship practices which control impact on the grazing lands and watersheds used by the ranch. The beautiful glacier-fed rivers and streams do more than merely provide this place with fresh drinking water and recreational opportunities; they are also the source of hydro-electric energy for the two large homes, and for all their out-buildings!
Special Offer!
Sand Creek Ranch is opening its doors to limited tourism. If you have a passion for wilderness and respect for nature, the Foster family welcomes you to have a wonderfully unique visit into their vast home. The ranch facilitates many of the activities Waddington Enterprises offers in the West Branch Valley. From the ranch you can float down the river to Twist Lake, walk to Quartz Creek waterfalls, hike through meadows and ride beautiful horses.
A warm welcome to you from Walt and Carol.
